Scholarship For Attending UMSL Post-High School

Reviewing For French Class
At the link to the left called QUIA and More , there are three helpful QUIA practice websites. The Français 3 and Français 4 QUIA links are review pages which are tailored to review the current unit in each class, while the Passé Composé page is available all year for extensive review of every aspect of this tense. Additonally, the links on that page for Tex's French Grammar lead to a fabulous website from the University of Texas/Austin, which provides review for every aspect of French grammar: tenses, adjectives, nouns, articles, prepositions, etc.
Language and Culture Resources for Class
Students will find numerous language-related resources and culture-related resources using the links on the pages I have created for those purposes.
Summer Packet and Review
Students planning to enter Français 4 each year have a required summer packet to prepare them with new vocabulary which will be needed as we begin our first unit. A few extra copies will be available over the summer in my mailbox in the main office. There will be a test over this vocabulary in the first two weeks of school.
Students entering Français 3 each school year are expected to have a very comfortable working knowledge of the passé composé with both avoir and être. Review before the beginning of the school year is strongly urged, using both the QUIA website for Passé Composé and the Tex's French Grammar (U of Texas) review website (see links to the left). An assessment test will be given in the first two weeks of school.

For my French 4s:
"I know that cupcakes are fashionable, and foie gras is a little difficult, but I WOULD like to leave high school knowing how to make SOME kind of pâté."
