Kindergarten curriculum creates the foundation for connecting the processes of oral language
and print concepts, comprehension, and the love of reading. Kindergartners acquire basic phonemic awareness, letter knowledge, and concepts of print through multiple reading and writing experiences. Students will also be introduced to the formal and informal reading, writing, language, listening and speaking. Instruction is provided in small, flexible groups, whole group, and individually, reflecting the needs of students. Through guided practice, students will begin to develop the independent application of all English Language Arts skills.
